Ultimate Guide to Efficient Leveling in MapleStory (Beginner to Advanced)
A Step-by-Step Roadmap to Level Up Faster in MapleStory With Minimal Pain
Leveling efficiently in MapleStory requires strategy, planning, and a good understanding of where to go at each stage of your character’s progression. From early-game exploration to mid-game grinding, and finally the intense endgame grind, each phase offers unique challenges and opportunities. In this guide, we’ll cover the best spots, activities, and tips for leveling from beginner to advanced.
And if you ever find yourself struggling with the grind or short on time, BoostingBros is here to help. We’ll handle the hard work so you can enjoy the game’s content without the endless hours of grinding.
Early Game (Levels 1–100): Building the Foundation
At this stage, leveling is straightforward, but it’s easy to waste time if you don’t know where to go. From Level 1 to Level 100, your focus should be on questing in accessible zones and completing key dungeons.
Best Places to Level:
Job Advancement Quests: Each class has its own job advancements at levels 10, 30, 60, and 100. Completing these provides solid EXP boosts and unlocks essential skills.
Theme Dungeons (Level 30+): Early theme dungeons like Gold Beach and Ellinel Fairy Academy offer steady EXP and introduce you to questing and area mechanics. These zones are great for new players and fast leveling until around level 60.
Monster Park (Level 105+): At Level 105, you can start running Monster Park, a daily dungeon with high-EXP rewards. Try to run it daily for efficient leveling, especially once you start stacking your EXP buffs.
Riena Strait (Level 70–100): If you’re looking for a reliable grind spot in the late early-game stage, Riena Strait offers good EXP and an easy, structured questline.
Pro Tip: Use EXP Buffs Effectively
Make the most of MapleStory’s EXP buffs like EXP Coupons, Runes, and Fever Time. Activating a Rune in a mob-dense area can double your EXP for a short period, which is invaluable at this stage. Extra pro-tip: if you pay attention to the chatbox, helpful players will broadcast “MVP buffs” in the format “xx32 MS”, where xx32 simply means the 32nd minute of the current hour as players are in various timezones, and MS refers to “Mushroom Shrine” which is reachable through the in game guide button. MVP exp buff is also stackable and is applied to everyone who is in the map at the time that it is used.
Mid Game (Levels 100–200): Starting to Grind
Once you reach Level 100, MapleStory becomes more challenging, with leveling becoming a little slower and more reliant on specific locations and daily activities. Here’s where you’ll start incorporating regular dailies and working toward your 5th Job advancement at Level 200.
Best Places to Level:
Zakum (Level 100+): Zakum is a classic boss that gives great EXP for players who are strong enough to defeat it. Partying up can make it easier, especially if you’re still gearing up.
Monster Park (Level 105+): One of the best sources of EXP all the way through to level 260+. Continue to run Monster Park up to 7 times every day, 2 entries for free, and you can buy 5 more entries for very few mesos in the Cash Shop.
Kerning Tower (Level 145+): Starting at Level 145, you can access Kerning Tower, a fantastic area for leveling up in this mid-range. The mobs here offer a good balance of experience and density, making it an efficient grind spot.
Arcane River - Vanishing Journey (Level 200): While you technically need to be Level 200 to access the Arcane River, preparing for this area should be a priority as you approach that level. Vanishing Journey will become your new base for leveling and Arcane Symbol farming.
Pro Tip: Establish a Routine
In the mid-game, a structured routine will help you progress faster. Incorporate Monster Park, daily bosses, and questing to maintain a steady flow of EXP without burning out. If the grind is slowing you down, BoostingBros can help you hit those dailies and handle your grinding, so you don’t fall behind.
Endgame (Level 200+): Reaching Your Peak
Reaching Level 200 is a big achievement—it unlocks 5th Job skills and opens up new endgame zones. But it’s also when leveling becomes a long-term commitment, with each level requiring significant EXP. Here’s how to keep progressing efficiently.
While reaching level 200 is a big milestone and where you really get a feel for how your character works after getting 5th job skills, what most new players don’t realize is level 200 is simply where the game begins. We will delve more into this in future articles where we discuss 6th job (level 260+), and the HEXA matrix and sol erda fragments.
Best Places to Level:
Arcane River Regions: Continue through Arcane River, unlocking areas like Chu Chu Island, Lachelein, and Arcana. Each region has daily quests that provide massive EXP and Arcane Symbols, which are crucial for building your Arcane Force.
Extreme Monster Park (Level 260+): Once you hit Level 260, you can access Extreme Monster Park, an upgraded version of the standard park. This area is great for high-level players looking for a controlled grind environment with big EXP rewards.
Symbol Dailies in Arcane River: Farming Arcane Symbols from daily quests becomes a top priority, as it directly affects your Arcane Force. Without enough Arcane Force, you’ll struggle to deal with tougher enemies in Arcane River.
Pro Tip: Symbol Dailies Are Essential
Your progression in Arcane River depends heavily on your Arcane Force, which comes from Arcane Symbols. Make sure you’re completing these dailies consistently to build up your Arcane Force. This especially will become an impossible hurdle when you get to the Lucid and Will bosses if you have not been keeping up with Arcane Symbols as they have an Arcane Symbol gate where you will do next to no damage if you do not qualify. If this part of the grind is wearing you down, consider letting BoostingBros handle it for you. We are experts in farming, so you don’t miss out on crucial power gains.
